Winter season was harsh, shoe production increased by 70 percent | 1.03.2022
The harsh winter season with snowfall and cold weather, which is effective throughout Turkey, also increased the production of shoes. While the winter shoes left in the warehouses from the previous season were exhausted, the production increased at a high rate compared to the previous year. Muhammet Acar, President of Konya Chamber of Shoemakers, stated that there was an increase of around 70-80 percent in production compared to last year, "Last year the winter was dry, this year there was abundance and fertility". said

The rainiest and coldest winter season of recent years, which was effective in most of Turkey and Konya with snowfall, made us smile in the footwear industry as well as in agriculture.

Winter shoes left in warehouses in Konya were sold this year. Shoe-producing companies, on the other hand, contributed to the country's economy by increasing their production hours for the winter season this year. Konya, which is at the forefront of shoe production in Turkey, has moved both export and production quality to the upper levels with 1,500 companies and has surpassed the sub-industry shoes in particular.

Winter shoes and boots are not in the hands of retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers

Konya Shoemakers' Chamber President Muhammet Acar said that after the effective snowfall, winter shoes became more popular compared to previous years, "Due to heavy rains throughout Turkey, especially winter shoes and boots were not in the hands of retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers last year.

We have an incredible variety of production. Due to this diversity, we continue to export from here, especially to the Middle East and European Union countries around the world. There has been an incredible demand for this in recent years. At this point, we continue our work

Shoe production in Konya has increased by 70-80 percent compared to last year. You know, last year, the winter was dry. There was plenty and abundance this year. This abundance was reflected in every sector. In other words, it was reflected both in the shoe industry and in all sectors. Therefore, we believe that it will be more abundant with grain in the summer, I hope.”

Chinese shoes have lost their popularity in Turkey

Noting that Konya's shoe export figures have increased, President Muhammet Acar said, "It has increased more in recent years. There was a market in front of us that we can call the Great Wall of China. The Great Wall of China, especially Chinese shoes, has lost its popularity in Turkey. Therefore, shoes from the world countries, especially to Turkey, have lost their popularity. and they started to come to Konya, because all of the goods coming from China are imitation and what can be called nylon shoes, which are exactly harmful to foot health.

However, the shoes produced in Konya are completely made of leather, with leather inside and out. These are shoes that do not contain carcinogenic substances that are beneficial for foot health and even produced from antibacterial materials. Therefore, we want to say to the companies in Turkey, the shoe industry, the shoe buyers, and the shoe industry in the world, that Konya produces shoes that are beneficial to health, with the diversity and quality of production.”

Acar, President of the Chamber of Shoemakers, added that an agricultural fair was held in Konya, the granary of Turkey, and that they will hold a fair in the future to show that the heart of shoes is Konya.
